Will Blaze get updated to the new Fitbit OS?

While it might be a bit early to ask (considering the new Fitbit smart watch was just announced this morning), I am curious if there are plans to update the Fitbit Blaze to the new Fitbit OS platform. As a mobile app developer, I'd like to be able to create Fitbit apps that are compatible with this model as well as with upcoming Fitbit models as well.

I'm a new user in the forum so I'm not aware of it 😉

Was just curious if the forum admins had some information or context.

I agree @Rich_Laue that we won't get much in way of an official confirmation on this. But I definitely agree that the same question has crossed my mind. A lot of these features (weather, etc.) are ones we've all been asking for. I am really curious to see which ones will make their way to Blaze.

As well as more Clock Faces of course. I'm baffled at the lack of variation and progress on this one. I expected a flood of them once they acquired Pebble.

Why do have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that the Blaze will now be pretty much ignored and they'll just push the Ionic? Been quite a while since anything new on the Blaze despite promises that more faces were coming etc.

Personally I'd say the odds of FitbitOS coming to the Blaze are next to zero - CPU, RAM, storage and so on, and the fact they obviously don't care about it anymore of the S8 battery drain issue is anything to go by.

Also very curious about this. Has there been any news in the past few months? If the Blaze will receive all the new os updates, and have access to the same APPs.

I'm betting the new Blaze 2 will be a full on smartwatch.
