Woke up and burned 2800 calories

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Before I run to Mc Donalds. I don't wear my Blaze at night because I will hurt or kill myself so I just put it on a table. When I woke up, my heart rate was 158 while I wasn't wearing it and I burned more than 2800 calories.

A. Can I reset the day?
B. How can this be?
C. do you have Mc Donalds coupons?

Thank you!

Welcome to the Community @nadine76. I will be glad to help you with your Blaze information. It's weird to hear that your tracker registered that information while you were not wearing it. About the calories, I recommend checking your weight and height information, if it is not correct, please update it by doing the following from a computer:

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to Personal Information

3. Edit your information

4. Save

5. Sync

About your questions:

1 and 2. You can not reset a day, you can contact our support team to see if they can do something about it.

3. No, we don't have McDonald's coupons. Woman Sad

Hello,

I had the exact same problem as the previous user reported on the same day. Every time I take my blaze off, the heart rate jumps really high and as a result counts calories that I'm not burning. When I woke up I had 3200 calories burned that day. I just had it off and the heart rate was at 123bpm when it should be at my resting rate. All of my personal info is correct as well. It's strange because it had not happened before that. Any idea what it could be ?

Thank you !

Optical HR trackers track your heart rate by shining a light onto your skin and measuring how it is scattered. I'm no biologist but apparantly your blood flow does something to the light.

If you leave your blaze off and the sensor (the bit between the two green lights) is exposed it can get faulty readings from things like a LCD display on a clock, a flickering light, light coming in through your windows or, more likely the Blaze's own light being reflected back to it by something shiny.

Go into the device settings and set the heart rate feature to "Auto". Also, laying it down on a non-relfective surface, such as a microfibre cloth, will keep it clean and will stop the overcounting.

Hello @Ben26 welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂  As @Rylan mentioned sometimes your tracker might detect false heart rate readings, the movement of a fan on the table or any vibration near your tracker can cause your Blaze to detect heart rate even when you are not wearing it. My advise is to turn off the heart rate when you remove your Blaze to avoid this from happening.
