i just got my Fitbit blaze and it is not tracking all my steps. i will be watching it count step for step and then it will just stop for 100 steps or so. i believe i read on a forum that an update is coming out to assist the blaze - any ETA on that?

The previous "update" is what broke the Blazes ability to correctly count steps. They haven't given an ETA of when it will get fixed. They usually don't. And judging from the past when an update introduces bugs, it may be a while.

Mike, what did the last update do ?  Are you saying that the Blaze was accurate before that ?

As I posted elsewhere, if the Blaze can't accept GPS signals or synch correctly to a GPS smartphone, then it should count distance via the default or inputed Stride Length and arm motions.  That should get it within 2-3% accuracy, light-years better than what we have now.

I don't know what they messed up on the last update, but before, step count was more accurate. It's terrible now. My phone using the MapMyWalk app counts my steps more accurately. Heck, a potato can count my steps more accurately.

If the Blaze uses stride distance to calculate walked or run distance then that won't be accurate if it can't even count steps correctly.
