I liked to use charge hr for running and updated the stride length in my settings to calculate my running distance.
I don't really want to carry my phone when running, can the blaze be used for running in same way I used charge? I.e look at my step count and calculate my run distance from that?
Hope that makes sense. Basically I just want to use blaze to check time as I run and get a fairly accurate distance.
Also can you use connected GPS post run?
Thanks

There are a couple of settings you can adjust that might help. When you're on the watch and select run from your activities, a little gear appears on the bottom left. From there, you can turn off the use GPS setting, which will keep your watch from looking for it at the beginning of the run. Also, you can adjust your secondary stat that shows up. It defaults to time, but you could set it to distance so that you will always see distance when you are running. If you weren't already aware, you can scroll through the data while you are running for the primary stat, which is the one that shows up on top (heart rate, duration, time, calories, and distance, I believe).

Hi, @LeonRey49! Yes, you can use Blaze in the same way as the Charge HR.
As far as connected GPS, it cannot be used after the fact, you need to have the phone with you while running to use the GPS feature. The Blaze doesn't have on-board GPS of its own, it uses your phone's.

function and then will it try to look for a device then give up and use the
step count/stride length. I'd like to get an understanding of distance as
well as time during runs
