if you start your walk and the Blaze doesn't get a gps lock, will it keep searching and lock on at some point or do you have to get a lock before you begin?
Thanks!

I agree with @bbarrera.
You don't really need to ALWAYS open the app for it to connect to your Blaze but just in those cases where you've force quitted the app before in which case will not connect most likely. Just make sure it's running in the background should do @SunriseRun1250.

That's a good question @SunriseRun1250.
Normally when I've used it, it either tells me that it's found the phone and it will start tracking or will tell me that can't connect to phone when I've force quitted the app so I need to open it to at least have it running in the background. I would say you will get something in the first couple of minutes.
If it hooks to your phone, it will work fine and if it can not connect to your phone, you can try again while walking to get it to connect but I don't really think it will automatically keep attempting to look for your phone while you walk.
You can try it out though and let us know what hapens and I will try to do the same myself.
Anything else, let me know!

Thanks for the reply!
I've been testing it and i've found the same. It's not intelligent enough to connect whilst you are in the middle of your walk which I'm surprised at.
The manual doesn't say anything about opening the app to get it working. It should work without the app, otherwise fitbit has made a mistake with the manual and left people possibly thinking connected GPS is not working!?

The only way Connected GPS can work is for Fitbit "app" to be running on iOS or Android, the Fitbit software will receive GPS from iOS/Android, and then pass to Blaze over Bluetooth Low Energy connection.
Some folks have found that Android will quitely kill the Fitbit software on the phone, and that will kill Connected GPS.
Some folks on both iPhone and Android have found that any Bluetooth LE interruptions will cause a good map but inaccuarte mileage.

To answer the question of, Will it connect during the walk if not connected when starting out? "
I figure this is a question that is better to try than ask so let's try.

@Rockenmomma7 I need to correct one thing in @Wendy's post. You want to pair Blaze Classic, not the Blaze.
Your tracker is used to control music on the phone, you are not able to hear the music through the tracker.
