new blaze won't charge

I just got the Blaze and am trying to sync to my Droid, 2nd fitbit device. I have put the device in the charger but there is no change to the face of the device and not charge (left it charging for 2 hours). Can there be something wrong with the device?

@jmmjeanne  Until you set up and add the Blaze, no battery indicator will show.  Have you gone through the setup process yet?

I can't do anything b/c the battery level is too low. It is not charging to complete the setup.

I am having this same issue.  If someone could please assist that would be great.

It's great to welcome you @jmmjeanne@khangel and @Kmransom123 thanks for stopping by.

If you haven't paired your tracker and are seeing the fitbit/setup.com message, don't worry, you can charge your tracker even if it is showing that message. Just wait a couple of hours and then try the setup procedure.

You can paired your tracker by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Make sure the Fitbit app is compatible with your mobile device by checking http://www.fitbit.com/devices.
  2. Find the Fitbit app in one of these locations, depending on your device:
    • The Apple App Store for iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads.
    • The Google Play Store for Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Motorola Droid Turbo.
    • The Windows Store for Windows 10 mobile devices such as the Lumia phone or Surface tablet. If you have a Fitbit Surge, see the Windows 10 Computers instructions below After set up, you can sync using a mobile device.
  3. Install the app. Note that you’ll need an account with the applicable store before you can download even a free app such as Fitbit.
  4. When the app is installed, open it and tap Join Fitbit to get started. You’ll be guided through the process of creating a Fitbit account and connecting (“pairing”) your tracker to your mobile device. Pairing makes sure the tracker and mobile device can communicate with one another (sync their data).

Note that the personal information you’re asked during setup is used to calculate your basal metabolic rate (BMR), which helps determine your estimated calorie expenditure. The information is private unless you go into your Privacy settings and opt to share age, height, or weight with Fitbit friends.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Anyone else having problems with brand new blaze not charging. I have it on the charger but nothing. I think I need a new one?

So I have a moto Z droid but I can't connect with my laptop either. the problem is that the fitbit isn't being recognized b/c it isn't charged. the thing won't charge. Do any of these devices work from the start..had similar problems with Charge HR

Is it safe to assume its junk. I returned my first blaze because it would not charge and once again brand new in box from Target brought it home and same issue won't charge.

I'm also having this problem. I've installed the app and it wants to update the firmware but says I need to charge the battery first because it's too low to continue. I've plugged it in but there's no charging battery sign only the fitbit logo. So what do I do now?

Hi jmmjeanne,

Did you see the response from Alejandrafitbit?  I was able to get mine started using the steps provided.  I hope you didn't take it back yet.  I was frustrated and ready to return mine also but now that I've gotten it started I absolutely love it.

@jmmjeanne sorry for the problems and confusion,  a couple of questions.

What are you using to charge your Blaze, is it the recommended phone charger?

When you hooked the Blaze up to charge, did you feel the slight vibration? As stated above this vibration will be the only sign of charging until the Blaze is setup.

When trying to setup, are you using the Fitbit app? Your Bluetooth settings will not work.
