Hi I just spent a half hour shoveling 200 feet of sidewalk. No activity was recorded. Is there a fix for this? I'll do some walking to hit my exercise goal for the day but I was really surprised by this bug.

It really is not step based. I would use the blaze exercise screen and use Workout mode. Then set up a custom activity on your Exercise tab called snow shoveling. Once it sync you can rename it.

The manual is here and can help a lot

Even though it’s not stepped based, snow shoveling should still be an exercise activity option on the fitbit. There are other activities such as weight lifting and stretching that are not stepped based and they are listed as an exercise option on fitbit. You should add it because it is a very good form of exercise that includes cardio and strength training for a total body workout.
