I haven’t received any “notifications” since June 16th.....the encouraging ones that come up when you’ve reached or exceeded your goals. “Nailed it” “Over achiever”.
Maybe I’m just a high maintenance fitbitter, but I used to enjoy getting them! 😉
Is this happening to anyone else?

@Cullzer Hi and Welcome - if this has stopped recently and you had them before you could try re-checking you settings - because if there has been an update sometimes it will change then(very rare but it does happen) either phone update or app update,
this is a first response to try and resolve this
you could also try and reset your goal say up it by 500 if steps then force sync and then edit back to original steps (goal) and force sync once again,
let me know if this helps if not will see if we can find another solution
Kind Regards

@Cullzer hi again - so let me try again - while trying this method could I gather a little more information about your issue first of all have you tried the following
first of all I apologise it looks like I missed out some information on my first email - what I meant to say was First try
1, in the Fitbit app go to account (Personal info page)
2. go into settings (cog symbol)
3. scroll down to advanced and make sure push notifications is on
and also
from main dashboard (PC/web browser)
1. select the cog on the top right,
2. choose the settings option
3. down the left hand side choose notifications and ensure all the notification you want have been selected (tick visible in box)
4. save
if it is already selected un check the box then save - force sync device and then reselect tick mark and save then force sync again
next you could give the following a go
Clear the Fitbit app Browser Cache by logging out from Fitbit app,
1. go to your Phone settings,
2. find the Fitbit app,
3. tap on Clear Cache,
4. then Clear Data,
5. Force close the app and finally,
6. log back into the Fitbit app.
7. check your steps goal one more time and sync your Fitbit.
can I also ask if your tracker vibrates when you achieve you goal?
is it the actual notifications on your phone that you are not getting?
what phone are you using? and are you getting other notifications
on looking into this further if the above don't work, it doesn't look like you are alone in this although a different tracker

@LanuzaFitbit could I ask you to take a look and see if you can add to this or let us know if this is a system wide issue that's currently being worked on - Thanks
I can only suggest that you contact support and tell them - if this is a known issue they will let you know it is being looked into - but - they will not specify a time frame just in case they run into more issues while trying to remedy the issue.
I have also mentioned a Moderator in my reply to bring this to their attention and who maybe able to shed more light in the status of this issue.
hope this helps
Kind Regards

@Cullzer Not sure about this one
1, go to account
2, click on the device picture
3, lock for general general and select notifications follow the requests,
4, press enable notifications (this takes you to access page)
5, select fitbit notification service and notification
close app and restart phone re-open app and see if they appear again
see if that works
if not I can only suggest you contact customer support
sorry I could not assist you further

@Cullzer Typical its now happening to me and I have tried it al also but to no avail - I do however get them within the app when I open the app up and force sync or open challenges but I don't get them in the phones notification bar along with emails etc - this is soo frustrating - when I try to find further info other than what I have posted it seems it only wants to tell us how to get call notifications on the device and not notifications on the phone.
I will add moderator to this post to make them aware and see if there are other threads or issues related to this
@LanuzaFitbit could you please take a look and see if this is a current known issue and/or advise of a solution that I haven't come up with - the 2 issues I can see at the moment is in app not listing notifications sent and not getting notifications sent to notification bar of (well for me android phone)
please understand this is different to receiving notification on Tracking device (ie flex 2, charge 2. etc etc this is not what I believe this error to be

Thanks Wayne! It’s just a little thing but I always looked forward to those little blurbs about my step success.
its probably the result of an update done June 16th (my last congratulations from Fitbit) and not many noticed.
I love fitbit and all their products. I had to replace my One when an “update”’rendered mine and many many others useless, as per this forum. I hope this doesn’t happen with my brand new Charge 2!!

This same thing is happening to me... After June 11th I have stopped receiving the notifications. Unlike you I don't feel that this is a small adult thing this is just another example of bad progressing since these cannot be reset...

Mine is the doing the same. I haven’t received notifications since June 24. I believe it’s the same for texts and calls. I’m going to do a test and see if it’s the same because I haven’t really paid attention to that but I believe that’s the case. 😔 any resolution?

Hi All - UPDATE I think I may have found the solution (No Guarantees) but worth a try
right here we go
on phone click settings and in search bar type notification Access
look for Fitbit Sync Service notification and allow, close page
now go to the Fitbit App
1, open app
2 click on the device picture (open page which tells you when you last synced the device)
3, Click on device picture again
4, click notifications (if this is the first time follow the instructions on screen)
5, you should now be taken to a page with calls, text messages, calendar events and advance settings
6. under advanced settings you should see enable notification widget - ensure that this is turned on
you should get a fitbit symbol in the notification bar
if not go to device maintenance>battery>scroll down and you should see the fitbit symbol - if you do not select always sleeping and see if it is in there (if it is delete from list 3 dots top right)
also ensure the app is allowed to run in the back ground
Settings>apps>fitbit>Battery>allow background activity.
this should get it to work (again no guarantees but I did get the initial notification as you would the goal steps etc)
now just need to wait until an event requires a notification
apparently this is for Android 8.0 (Oreo) and above
fingers crossed all
Kind Regards
Wayne

Alas, I have an iPhone, not Android.

@Cullzer lol that helps - now after a bit of digging I found these threads on the IOS section this may explain a lot take a look and see if it helps you out along with the other IOS users in this post
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979
and an IPhone Support page just in case a step was missed although you probably have tried these one
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/ht201925
although saying that it also says the same about android and it works still on that so you may still want to try and see if my steps works on the IOS system

Thanks, Wayne, for working so tirelessly to find a solution for me!
I read all the posts relating to this issue for iOS and it seems they “Fitbit” decided to eliminate them with the last update. They can be found elsewhere but I’ve had no luck and don’t want to waste any more time playing with it.
This is my fourth Fitbit and in the past year I found every update eliminated some feature I’d enjoyed and/or shortened the battery life of my Fitbit. I don’t think I’ll be doing any further updates on my brand new Charge 2 for this reason. If I’d only realized this issue, I would never have allowed the update when I set up my new device two weeks ago!!
Thanks again for all your help!!!

your quite welcome - on IOS I think you need to allow push notifications
https://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97931
and on Phone in app - account>settings>scroll to advanced and check push notifications
im the same with android not updated since they changed to the new dashboard
Kind Regards
Wayne
Good Luck
