New version of app, now Charge 3 is unresponsive?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A couple days ago a new version of the app self-updated on my iPhone. At about the same time, my Charge 3 became very slow. I restarted the phone and the Charge 3 worked great - for about 2 minutes. Then it again became unresponsive to screen input.

When I force reboot the Charge 3 (using the charging cable method), it is responsive to screen input for a few minutes, then slows down and finally won't respond at all. It syncs with the app. Firmware version is 1.63.5.

Any help would be appreciated!

same thing struck me today (4/23/20).  Forced restart with cable results in smiley face followed by standard display, but once that screen fades, device is non responsive.  Same firmware version 1.63.5

Good news! After 3 days of being essentially locked up from this, my Charge 3 appears to be back to normal today.

Apparently I was too optimistic. When I started an Exercise session I received a message that the Charge 3 was not paired to Bluetooth. As soon as I selected OK to pair, it locked up again.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear.  There are a ton of other threads reporting same issue.
The work arounds provided by Fitbit do not resolve the issue.  With this
many customers reporting the issue, one would hope that if its firmware
the bug will be identified and fixed. Guess I'll log a case with
support.  This is the second Charge 3 that has failed me. Might be
forced to looked at a different manufacturer.  Stay safe and good luck.

Support's suggestion was to try a "long restart" which failed. Luckily, my device is still under warranty and a replacement order has been placed.
