4 months on charge 5 ready for a 3rd AREADY

Charge 5 has syncing issues. I have done everything in the community formats to correct the issue. My last resort is to do the pulse method on the charger, but my charger does not have any buttons at the base of it. It has metal prongs to charge the battery. I am ready to throw this FB away. Now it won't even read my pulse.

Hi, @psyuhas , I think you are trying to give your Charge 5 a restart?  (This is not a last resort, BTW, this should be your first trouble shooting request, as a restart can solve many issues.  A restart will not cause any loss of data.)

To restart your Charge 5, the button is not on the base of the charging cable - it is on the end of the charging cable that plugs into the usb connection on the charging plug.  Here’s a pic of the charger showing the location of the button.

With the cable plugged into the wall charger, and the Charge 5 attached to the charging end, press the button 3 times within 8 seconds, pausing briefly between each press.  The press and the pause must each be for about one second.  I find that if you say the words out loud while doing the press and pause that will give you about the right rhythm.  So it’s “press - pause - press - pause - press”. You may have to try this a couple of times to get it just right, but when it does restart you should see the Fitbit logo.

Immediately after the restart try to force a sync on the app.

Hopefully this will get it syncing.

If you are still having issues please let us know what device/ phone you are using to sync your Fitbit, and as clearly as possible let us know what trouble shooting steps you have already tried.  The more information we have the more we will be able to help.

Hey I figured that out. I think if the explanation to all is that the button is on the usb end of the charger there would be a lot less hair pulling. Anyway, thank you for responding to my rant. My faith in FB has been restored. 💖

Hi, @psyuhas , I am really glad that you figured it out, and that you now have it working any your faith is restored!  However, even though you figured it out yourself before I posted, if my answer to your problem was the best solution, it would be really helpful if you could mark it as the best solution… that might help someone else tearing their hair and wondering where that **** button is!

Marking solutions helps others in the Community.

Happy stepping!
