Add Active Zone Minutes to swimming activities-Charge 5

Hi, it looks like Swim exercise specifically (because heart beat is not measured while swimming) is not accounted into the Zone min, unlike every other exercise.  In general, what are the benefits of choosing Swim exercise if all it enables is to manually enter how long I swam and how many pools?  Am I missing anything?   thanks for your help

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Ilev.

Thank you for your question about what is tracked during a swimming activity.

Your Fitbit Charge 5 is able to track your swim lengths, duration, distance, and pace. For information about how you can track your swims with your Fitbit device please visit this article.

If you want to make any suggestion you are welcome to visit the Feature Suggestions board which is constantly monitored by our engineering team for future implementations.

Have a nice day.

Hello @EdsonFitbit ,

I checked the Suggestion page and it's month that it's not updated with coming suggestions been implemented. In fact on top of the page it always show 2 suggestions being implemented maybe 1 year ago. It's also many months that no tracker (either band or smartwatch) receive any update (I think the last one was the Luxe (October 2021) with the addtion of features (most notably SpO2 and readiness score) that were promised at the moment of the launch of the tracker.

So the questions are:

- aren't any updates being in progress to be released? or are all Fitbit devices abandoned? (sorry to be direct but this is what the community is feeling)

- how are suggestions being monitored and taken in consideration when we see this stall? The only changes we can see are "not currently planned" closed suggestions

- why many important bugs (totally unreliable HR sensor on Sense/Versa 3), completely wrong Altimeter on Sense / Versa 3, lack of 12/24h mode on Fitbit ACE series, SpO2 recorded one day in advance if leaving in eastern side of the world) completetely ignored or answered as "we are aware of the issue but unaware to provide a fix soon"? Is this the response we should expect for one of the leading companies in the Fitness trackers market?

Please don't take this message wrongly, as an attack to the company or the moderators invoking some violations of guidelines, users (your paying client and who makes your business sustainable) need to know why they feel abandoned.

Thanks

thanks for getting back to me.  so just to clarify, any serious swimmer that the majority of his or her activity is swimming cannot really take full advantage of the Charge 5  because if heartbeat is not measured than zone Minutes, Readiness score and so many other things are not applicable. What a shame especially when so many other units are offering a basic heartbeat measurement while swimming.

Fitbit Says the below (and I am quoting):
"Your Fitbit device doesn't track your heart rate during a swim workout. You earn 1 Active Zone Minute for each minute of swimming."

However the actual Zone mins that are calculated are much different. one example my last 21 min swim recorded attached. It was calculated as 39 Zone mins. (3 in calorie burn and 36 in the cardio). See attached
This contradict your statement about earning 1 active Zone min for each minute Swimming.

Every swim by the way although the same time presents different Zone mins. How are the Zone minutes calculated if HB is not measured?Screen Shot 2022-06-07 at 4.13.25 PM.png
