Longtime, satisfied Fitbit customer dating back to the Charge 2 (maybe earlier even). When I replaced my Charge 4 with the new(er) Charge 5 I noticed a significant change in my sleep scores secondary to the "restoration" component of the score. In the past my I had the "hammock-like shape" when reviewing the "sleeping heart rate." Now it is all over the place (below; Friday night, 4-1-22 - no April Fool's joke). Estimated oxygen various is "normal." I do not have any health issues, do not have sleep apnea, nothing abnormal or unusual or changes from those times when restoration scores were higher. (I did have a total hip replacement 6/28/21 but fully recovered, walking 10,000+ steps a day, etc.). The chart below is actually better than most with few if any of the sleeping heart rate being below the resting heart rate. My resting HR is 58-62 (on average) accord to my Charge 5. Not that it matters but I am a clinical psychology, practice really good sleep hygiene, often do mindfulness/breathing exercise before sleep, etc. I am just really curious and would love to hear from others. (Oh, and Fitbit did replace my first Charge 5 because of other issues so my current one is about 1 month old.) Thanks so much. Ed

@EJNIV I agree with you that this is very different from the typical sleeping heart rate graph that Fitbit describes. But is this an artifact because you slept in an odd position or is this real? If you still have your Charge 4, can you switch devices for a few days and see if it is still there? You still might want to contact your primary care provider. There are many stories out there about how a Fitbit picked up something and helped a user.

Thanks so much @LZeeW . Not an odd sleep position, just a normal night (as far as I know). I was having the same patterns with the Charge 4. I still wonder if it is relate to have a low RHR normally and I have noticed more REM sleep (vivid dreams) and whether than impacts sleeping HR. After our vacation ( late May) I am planning on my yearly physical and will be sure to share this with physician. Thanks again.
