All of a Sudden Sleep isn't working Right

I turned off the sleep function that measure length and quality of sleep because I was working long hours and didn't want to be reminded my sleep quality was poor.   I turned it back on mid December and it doesn't provide me with a sleep score.   All of a sudden my Fitbit is measuring the number of hours I sleep but has a high number of times awake and restless.   I did not have a problem before I turned the function off and I always sleep like a baby.

Hello @Larry1955z

If you don't mind, would you please explain the steps you took to turn off the sleep function on your Charge 5?

I changed the sleep mode on the Fitbit  by scrolling down and changing the mode to off.  When I turned it on, I did the reverse.  I think I also did a restart.  It said it doesn’t delete data.   Do you have any suggestions ?   Thank you

After trying every published solution, I tried clearing the cache, closing the app on my phone, and restarting the phone. Last night I got sleep data for the first time in weeks.!!!!! YEA!!!

Hello @Larry1955z

Thanks for providing the steps you took. However, I think you have a misunderstanding about Sleep mode on the Charge 5. According to the Charge 5 manual, when the Sleep mode is enabled:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are muted
  • The screen's brightness is set to Dim
  • The screen won't turn on when you turn your wrist. You have to tap on the screen to wake the Charge 5

The Sleep mode is a Do not Disturb/Quiet mode. You might consider setting up a Sleep mode schedule on your Charge 5 so it automatically goes into that mode at night:

  • Swipe down from the Clock face to get to the Settings tile & tap on Settings
  • Swipe up to Quiet Modes & tap
  • Swipe up to Sleep Mode & tap
  • Tap on Schedule to enable
  • Swipe up to Interval and tap
  • On this screen set up the Start & End time
  • Swipe right to return to the clock face

When you've done this, your Charge 5 will automatically go into Sleep mode at the time you set and go back to normal at the End time. See if your sleep log looks better after you've set the Sleep mode schedule.

I meant Sleep Stages not Sleep Modes. Thanks for correcting me.
