My app only recognizes auto-recognized exercise. For example, it tracks my morning dog walks, but when I go to the gym in the afternoon and use the exercise function to track a treadmill run, it doesn’t show up in the app. However, my miles/steps/calories all reflect my exercise. Yesterday, I went on a hike instead of my normal walk, which I tracked on the watch, and now there is no record of it (though my steps and miles are accurate). I’m frustrated. Fitbit used to be a really helpful tool, but without the extra data on the web dashboard, the estimated calories remaining, and now not being able to see progress in my runs, I think I’m going to switch to another smartwatch.

Hello @Lindalinda453
There have been issues on the Fitbit side that affects exercise data syncing and data discrepancies. The team is aware of the issues and have been working on getting the problems fixed.
For now, there's isn't any troubleshooting we can do on our side. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before the problems are fixed and we see all our exercise data in the Fitbit app.
