Automated Excercise tracking on charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My charge 5 is not really tracking Excercise ( workout, tabata, aerobik, cardio. . . )  automatically, each time I have to add it manually. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or there is some issue with my device.

Hello @SunsetRunner

The Charge 5 will automatically recognizes exercises such as walking, running biking or swimming. In theory, some exercises like aerobic can be automatically detected but only if they are high intensity.

Does it recognize at least a walk ? Bear in mind they should be 15 minutes long minimum ?

will need to add manually every time, correct? Thank you

Hello @SunsetRunner

Are they set to On in your App?  If you start from the Today Screen in the App in your phone, tap your profile picture, then tap Activity and Wellness, then Exercise, the list of Auto-recognized Exercises comes up.  It should have most of them set to 15 minutes or longer (you can adjust them to be as short as 10 minutes if you want to).

Tap on the ones you're interested in and check that Auto-recognize is set to On.  Then sync your Charge 5.

I also suggest it might be worth adding Exercise Shortcuts to your tracker for different exercises so you have more control and can start tracking them yourself in real time when you're starting them. There are shortcuts for Workout, Interval Workout, Circuit Training etc.

You can do this by going from the Today screen again but after tapping the profile picture, tap Charge 5, then Exercise Shortcuts.  Choose one you want to remove and delete it by swiping left.  Then + Exercise Shortcut turns up and you can choose something to add from the list.  Once you've added the ones you want, sync your Charge 5.  They should turn up under Exercise and you can press Start and Stop as you like.

If you choose for example Workout, it will show up in your Exercise for your day.  You can change the name by tapping the arrow on the right from Categorize Exercise.  Enter the things you want in the search box and tap to change.  I just checked and Tabata is there, aerobics and Cardio too.  I do Les Mills classes myself and I can change the names there after I've tracked my exercise.

I hope that helps a bit.
