Battery Display is not accurate on App after Syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My battery display on the app has read 23% for over a day now, even after multiple syncs and a restart. According to my Charge 5, the battery life is currently … oh wait, the number is so small! I can’t read it.

My battery was at 4% this morning yet stop tracking my sleep at 3:16am. So I do not have accurate sleep readings for the first good night's sleep I have had in a week! Do I have to manually turn on the Sleep Tracker every night?

Hi, @montyjam , if your Fitbit battery is below approximately 20% it may stop tracking sleep in order to prevent the tracker dying completely.  The solution to this is to keep the battery above 20% whenever possible.  Not allowing frequent deep discharges will also prolong the useful life of your battery over time.

You should definitely NOT manually turn on the sleep tracker as your Fitbit is designed to track sleep automatically.  If sleep is manually turned on you will only get basic sleep tracking and not detailed analysis.

As for why the app is not updating your battery percentage, it sounds like it may not have fully synced.  If you click on your charge 5 icon in the app it should show you the time and date of the last sync.  Sometimes it can take several sync nudges in order to get the Fitbit to sync all data.  If you are having difficulty syncing your Fitbit you may find this help article useful.

Best wishes for the holiday season!

Oh it syncs, but it just doesn’t update the battery charge rate at the top of the app so I can see it. The icon for the battery charge rate on my actual Fitbit is ridiculously small.

On a related topic, I normally go to bed with my Fitbit 100% charged as my sleep numbers are very important to me. Yesterday, after sleeping eight hours, I got up and laid on the couch as I wasn't feeling well. I only did 2555 steps, all day. My battery, at bedtime (before charging) was 23% and I literally did nothing all day!

You need to amend your outrageous claims re battery life on the Charge 5.

@montyjam   If you are an iPhone user, there seems to be a bug with the current Fitbit app.  The only way I can get it to update is to force quit the app, then reopen it.  I recommend using the battery indicator in your Quick Settings until this is fixed.

I am not an iPhone user but I do have the app on my iPad. I will try a hard close now.

As mentioned above, I am unable to see the battery charge reading on my Fitbit Charge 5 because the icon is too small.

Where is the quick setting you refer to? Does it fix the problem?
my current fix, I have to logout of the app and log back in in order for the battery % to be accurate ( point in time only).
