Black screen charge 5 still synching and tracking

My charge 5 screen went black after swimming. I've been able to charge it, and it seems to be working as normal, as the alarm went off this morning but absolutely nothing on the screen.

I've tried the restart using the charging cable a dozen times. I've also tried changing the clock face 3 times and I presume it's changed as it vibrates and confirms on the app. Only had 14 months so out if warranty. Any further ideas please 🙏

Hi, @Amandaart , good news that the Fitbit still seems to be mostly working.  It may be that there is still some water inside your Fitbit and when it is dried out the screen issue may resolve itself.  Have you tried putting the Fitbit in a bag of uncooked rice for 24-48 hours?  After that I would try the restart procedure and change of clock face again.

Good luck!  Let us know how it goes… Welcome to the Community Forums.

My charge 5 is doing the same thing ,but I didn’t go swimming wearing mine ,it’s so frustrating.

It was 10 days ago that I swam in the pool in Greece wearing my fitbit.
Would think it would be dry by now. If you are not supposed to swim in it
then it shouldn't be sold with this feature.

Yes it is clearly a fault.

I won't be getting another fitbit.

Hi, @Amandaart , unfortunately with time, and through exposure to skin oils and also cosmetic creams, sunscreen etc, the water resistance can be broken down.  You can swim with your Fitbit, and many people do, but for myself - and this is advice I give others - I never swim with mine once the warranty has expired.
