Brand new Charge 5 not updating in workweek hustle

Hi, my Charge 5 is brand new. I went on a walk and came back and while my steps were updating, they are not showing in the workweek hustle challenge I do with my family. I’ve disconnected my old fitbit. Read through the forums. Am on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Unclear why this is happening; any advice? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there are all manner of bugs in the new Fitbit Charge 5 that at some point they will fix. The two most annoying bugs are where it won’t sync correctly with ‘unable to sync’ errors, and when it does sync it appears to have lost hours worth of data. I had a Charge 3 which worked flawlessly, the new Charge 5 has a lot of issues, and Fitbit support (no doubt under instruction from their lawyers) will deny there are any problems with it.

I am having synch issues and the bluetooth connection keeps disconnecting even though the watch is 3 inches from my phone.
My old charge 3  did not have this issue

It's very frustrating. The Charge 5 is also not tracking my heart rate, too. My husband read that tattoos may interfere with the heart rate tracking, and sure enough when I move it to my dominant wrist, it now tracks my heart rate, but I'd much prefer to have it on my non-dominant wrist.

 

I had a Fitbit Inspire that had zero issues; I've had the Charge 5 for less than 24 hours and already have 2 major issues.
