Breathing Rate not showing Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My nightly breathing rate is not displaying any data on the metrics dashboard. I have data for the other features. How can I get the breathing rate function to work on my Charge 5?  The breathing rate data is one reason I purchased the Charge 5

I have the Charge 5 and Breathing Rate works for me. Then, out of the blue,
I'll get a day where it doesn't work. If I restart my phone on that day it
works again the next day. Nothing seems to bring it back on the day that it
actually failed unfortunately.

I doubt this will help you since you say it has never worked on your Charge
5 but it's all I've got.

Hi, thank you for all your replies and your feedback; welcome to new users in the Community, @Pintob123 @FranzJ4 @SunsetRunner.

In addition to the steps mentioned earlier, I would also recommend setting up your Charge 5 as a new device in your account, as this has been useful for other users with similar problems.

If you're still having trouble, keep in mind this issue has already been reported and the team is working to find a solution. However, you can get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this as well. Click here to get connected.

I'll be around.

Thank you, but I've already tried this. In fact, returned first Charge 5 to
Amazon for credit. Replacement doesn't work either.

Fitbit needs to cease marketing it's capability of this known issue. I'd
think this is intentional deceptive advertising.

I have the same problem. Heart rate per minute stopped since Monday May 14th. All other parameters show up in the Health Metrics.

My breath rate STILL is not showing on my Cgarge 5. FitBit said they were
working on a resolution. It has been months!

FitBit has abandoned me and should refund.

Seems like it has to be the actual Charge 5 Tracker that isn't working since the breathing rate works for others with Charge 5 Trackers. If it was the App it wouldn't work for anyone. They should at least offer to replace your Charge 5 Tracker with another.

Breathing rate suddenly stopped for a week. Fitbit support suggested I delete the app and reinstall it again. It worked for today. Will see now if it records consistently going forward.

I have the same issue with breathing rate since May 14th. Was working fine earlier. Tried reinstalling the app, restarting the device etc as suggested by support. It shows up for one day after the band-aid fixes

Contacting Customer Support is a waste of time. They simply do not care.

They acknowledge the problem and claim they are working on it. It has been
five months and nothing. I can't believe in Fitbit anymore.

I've done all everything they have asked and suggested. No resolution.

At the end of the day, I tell anyone who is interested not to buy
Fitbit...lousy product.

@FranzJ4 Thank you for sharing your feedback about this.

Since this is still an ongoing issue, please know the team is already aware of it and they're working to resolve it, but it's not possible to provide an estimated period of time. We haven't received other updates for the moment.

Thanks again for all your comments and information provided about this so far.

I am having this exact problem.  I am not getting a breathing rate, a HRV, or a readiness score for the last two nights.  I have owned this device for over a year and have not had this problem before.  I tried to perform your suggestions.  I logged out and went to the app under settings but don’t see how yo clear my cache or cookies.  I own an iPhone XR.  I would appreciate any help.  Thank you.

@oceanrocker

I have that problem sometimes on my Android phone. I've found that if I restart the phone the missing data is there the next day. I haven't figured out how to get the data back for the day it was missing. No matter what I do that day it never appears but by restarting my phone it always seems to fix the problem for tomorrow's data.

I have an Android but hopefully the same solution will help with your iPhone.

Mine has been intermittent since December 14 or so. The previous 10 months it was fine. I have to believe the update around that time or the firmware update is the culprit. I average about 1 per week nowadays, not exactly what was advertised by Fitbit when purchased. Hopefully they get there act together and fix it.

My goodness. Over a year and a half and your 'team' still hasn't resolved this problem.

I came here today to see if there was something I could do to resolve this exact same problem - no breathing rate for days now. I have done everything suggested here: restarted, both from the device and using the 3 pulses, deleted and re-downloaded the app, deleted and re-set up the device, shut down and restarted my phone, thoroughly cleaned the device. FWIW, I have version 3.86 on my Charge 5; my app says it is up to date.

Maybe let your team know this: in addition to this, I only get Stress Management, Sleep and Readiness Scores a couple times a week, and this only because I now restart the device every day - this seems to be rather poor product design. I am currently in the 'free' period for Premium features but it would be rather pointless to start paying for features that don't work - to be clear, for your 'team', I will be cancelling the Premium subscription before it is set to renew. And, you can advise the 'team' that as of right now, there is zero chance I will buy another fitbit once this one needs replacement. I spent a lot of time deciding between this and a Garmin and, between the performance of the device and the poor support from your 'team' in other threads on this forum, it would be rather stupid to purchase another.

So sad that you're driving your products into the ground.
