C5 GPS not mapping walk

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’m trying to map a walk on my C5 using the built in GPS, I understand it has its pros & cons, however, it is working on my friends C5 but not mine. I have changed the settings on my watch to ‘built in’ and the Fitbit app location settings are set to always. I can’t work out how else to make the watch map the walk. It tracks to walk details but there’s no map.
Any advice please?

Hello @LaurenAdele

Are you using Walk as an Exercise Shortcut from your Charge 5 and pressing Start and Finish for it?

Is the GPS setting switched to on for that Exercise on your Charge 5?  If it’s not, that could be the problem.

If you don’t have Walk set as an Exercise Shortcut, you can add it from the Application on your phone by tapping your profile picture, then Charge 5, then Exercise Shortcuts.  Remove one you don’t use by swiping left, then add Walk from +Exercise Shortcuts. Sync your tracker.

Before your next walk, press Start, swipe up to check GPS is set to on and then press Start.  Don’t forget to press Stop when you’ve finished.

It should give you a map then.

Hello @LaurenAdele

Have you checked your exercise session on the App?  You need to sync and then the map should show up.  Sometimes there's a bit of a delay though...

Did you see the GPS connecting during your walk?  A little icon should show up when you start and once it's connected, you should officially Start your exercise.  It disconnects or won't work properly if you cover it with your sleeve or go under thick trees, that can be an issue too.

Other things to try are restarting your Charge 5 by swiping down from the Clock Face to Settings, tapping, then scrolling up to Restart Device.

I'm really sorry it didn't work this time but it should.  I don't know if it makes any difference at all, but mine is set to Dynamic.  I don't take my phone with me so it ends up using the built in one anyway.
