It's bizarre, really. I sometimes sleep mostly every night, and sometimes not even every other night. I want the sleepless nights included in the weekly average, but Fitbit (now I have a Charge 5, but I has the same problem with my Charge 3) omits sleepless nights when calculating the average.
Since I have pulse charts for those nights, it is fairly obvious that I was neither sleeping nor charging the Fitbit.
It is completely ridiculous that I have to enter the data I DO get into a spread sheet to get a more accurate number of my average sleep per night per week.
Is there any way to get it to include sleepness nights?!

Hi, @_DMM_ if Fitbit detects NO sleep at all, then it can’t count that in the average, because it averages sleep!. Do you go to bed at all during your sleepless nights? My Fitbit seems to know when I have gone to bed even if I am awake reading or watching TV. Are you trying to rest and just not succeeding, or do you literally just stay up all night (if the latter I can see why it is not included…)
On your sleepless nights you might try manually. You can do this on the Charge 5. Swipe down from the clock face and change it from Auto to On. I would imagine that your zero sleep would then be averaged in, but I am not certain! Worth a try? Although I think turning on sleep mode manually will mean you do not get sleep stages on those nights you do that.
If you experiment, please do report back as that might help others. Welcome to the forums!

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @_DMM_!
Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. To improve sleep tracking it's always a good idea to set up a sleep goal and a sleep schedule. You might also try changing sleep intensity to adapt your device better to your sleep habits. To know how do all that, please have a closer look here:
How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
As a side note, from my personal experience I can recommend Melatonin spray to help you sleep more evenly.
