Moving my Fitbit account to Google seems simple enough. What is not well explained is whether devices like my Charge 5 can still be synced to my “Fitbit” app installed on my Apple IPhone. And even if syncing is possible what functions are lost in the process. what adds to the confusion is that Products on the Fitbit web page like the Pixel smart watch only work on Android phone, a sign of the near future for all “Fitbit” products. I am a long time user of Fitbit trackers and fond of their no-nonsense straight forward simplicity. what I am saying is that I am not pressing any button to move my data to Google without clarification of where this transition is heading. At least I can use my Charge 5 for another year until I review all options. And I plan to continue using my IPhone.

Hi, @Gjohn567 , for the present, for existing Fitbit users with current Fitbits the migration to Google accounts is optional (for new users a Google account is already required). In the future all users will need to migrate to Google accounts.
Although Google’s Pixel watch only works with Android phones, all other currently available Fitbit watches and trackers work with both iPhones and Android phones. If and when you do decide to move to a google account your Charge 5 will continue to work with, and sync to, your iPhone, and you will not lose any currently available functions. The only major issue that I have noted so far is that those who have already switched are no longer able to see the progress of their Fitbit friends who have not yet switched - but this is a teething issue which will either be soon rectified, or eventually will resolve itself once all users have migrated.
I hope this makes things clearer for you. If I have missed anything out in this brief explanation, no doubt someone else will wade in and let you know! It is a bit of a work in progress at this point!
I hope this reassures you, at least to some extent.

Hi @Gjohn567
From what I've read, migrating one's Fitbit account to Google won't be required until early 2025. So, you've got a little over a year & a half to review all your options.
That said, it makes good business sense, at least to me, to continue producing Fitbit products that work on both Android & iOS phones/tablets.
