Can't connect to Wallet on new Charge 5

Just bought a new Charge 5 and tried setting up the Wallet. I entered my credit card info and the Fitbit app stopped working while adding the card. When I go back to Wallet again, I get an error when connecting to the Wallet service. Any ways to solve this?

The error says, "Error registering Charge 5 with Fitbit Pay Wallet. Error connecting to service, try again later." I've checked back each day for several days and no luck, still getting the same message.

Same issue. Bought a new Fitbit Charge 5 today. When trying to add my card to by Fitpay I keep getting error message '500 internal server error'. Frustrating!

The app is bugged and support does not go beyond providing "captain obvious" solutions while reading from a script and making you perform useless actions. What happens, simply put, is that the app on certain phones crashes after you've added the card and will not let you go back unless you pretty much remove everything and start over. In some cases it will register the card but will never get to the verify part making it useless.

One workaround is to use a different phone, connect your device and register a card there. Verify the card (email or sms). At that point it will sync to your device and you will have the card on it. It will not fix the problem on your original phone (i.e. it will not download card info there even if you sync) so you will not be able to edit/add another one but you should be able to use the device to pay. Should you want to remove it you can do it logging in to the fitbit website.
