I can’t change screen wake from manual to auto. Tried in settings and scrolling down to screen wake and tapping. Not working, what can I do?

Hi there, @Carole1957. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Charge 5 and following the tips and recommendations provided by @RiekoC. I understand how you must be feeling.

As per the description of your post, it does seem that your Charge 5 is in sleep mode. When the sleep mode setting is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders to move are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The Always-On Display clock face is turned off.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in the quick settings.

To turn it off, please see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

Once the above has been done, please try once again to change the screen wake settings from manual to auto.

Hello & welcome @Carole1957

The first thing I suggest trying is restarting your Charge 5, if you haven't already done so. You can do a restart from the device itself or by using the charging cord that came with your device. Click here for more detailed instructions: How to restart the Charge 5

Hopefully, after a restart you should be able to change the Screen Wake from Manual to Auto.

Let us know if this works for you.
