Initially I set it up fine, it gave me a 4 digit pairing code and although it was not successful at first after several attempts it gave me a green tick. Then I noticed it was not syncing so eventually I chose to delete the charge 5 from my account and re-pair. Phone could just not see it, tried turning the bluetooth off leaving it for 10 seconds turning back on scanning but nothing, found the charge 2 which i had moved to a different room, I even tried standing in the middle of the garden. Then I read it could fail if you have another fitbit on the account so I removed the charge 2 from my phone. Then I tired un-installing the app and re-installing but it still cannot see the fitbit. It keeps asking me if my fitbit needs charging but it is on 99% so I am at a loss.
Oh and for the record my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and software is up to date.
I am not technically minded so please be gentle and if you could give me step by step instructions I would be grateful.

Hi , i have solve the same problem as you have but now it’s solved.
1 . I restarted the fitbit charge 5 .(I don’t really know if it’s necessary but I did it )
2 After that you go In to the app , up to the left corner you push the button so you can come in to yours settings for the account.
In there you should have a button you can tap ( + activate new unit) and then it should start over again with the process to setup and give you a second chance.

Thank you for your response. I managed it eventually I think in a similar way to you. I restarted the fitbit, I found it in the settings I think. The manual is not particularly in depth just seem to tell you some of the features rather than actually how to do things. Seems you have yo figure it out yourself. Thanks again.
