Can't my step goal on my Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I previously owned a One and set the goal to 8000 steps.

I just bought a Charge 5 and experience serious overcounting when doing activities with my hands, eg. sewing on a sewing machine.

I therefore want to change my goal to 10.000 to compensate. But every time I change it, it just automatically changes back to 8.000.

what to do?

Hello @Mettelys and welcome to the Community.  Here are some general troubleshooting steps:

  • Force quit your app, then try again
  • Log out of your app, log in and try again
  • Delete your app, then re-download it and try again
  • Try changing it on your web dashboard settings

What type of phone do you use?  There might be a known issue with the Android or iOS app.

There is one thing you can do to change the accelerometer sensitivity.  Most of us wear our Fitbits on our non-dominant wrist.  Change your wrist setting to non-dominant.  This will reduce, but not eliminate, these extra steps.  Wrist trackers can both over- and undercount steps.  You generally don't get steps while pushing a shopping cart, for example.
