My Fitbit Charge 5 was malfunctioning and I discarded it - erased user data to ensure connection to a replacement that is still functioning which I try to connect.
With no success what so ever. The App will not find this new Charge 5 (C5) even though I have reinstalled the app, tried rebooting the C5, followed the instruction "are you sure you've placed the unit into charging"-prompt (Yes I have), etc.
It still searches for a new C5 that is sitting in a charger, 2 cm from the mobile. Tried for the better half of an hour and realizes that this is kind of crap.
How do I get this new C5 to connect...?

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your new Charge 5 is not connecting to your phone's Bluetooth. I will do my best to help you with this!
It seems that your Charge 5 cannot connect properly to your Fitbit app since you haven't yet forgotten the connection between your old watch and the phone's Bluetooth which would explain the connectivity issues you're running into. With that said, try the steps below:
