Can't sync charge 5 to already used email address

I got a new charge 5 and have been trying to sync it to my Samsung android, but when I put in my email address it comes up email address already used.

This is because I had a previous fitbit under that email address, how can set up my charge 5 using the same email address

It sounds like you are trying to set up a new account.  Your account is still active from your previous device.  Sign in to that account with your email and password.  You can reset your password if your forgot it.

 

Once you are back in your account, tap on your profile avatar in the upper left, then + Set Up a Device.  Follow the prompts.

 

Fitbit only deletes accounts when users specifically delete them.  Who knows how many idle accounts are out there?
