Can't sync my Charge 5 after a factory reset

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I synced my daughter's Charge 5 to the app. It added her and mine doesn't register now. So I did the steps of clearing data, deleting app (I have IOS), the 3 button push on charging cord to reset my Charge 5. So now what. Each time I try to sync my Charge 5, I get an error message. I've also tried it on another phone with a fitbit account not attatched to my fitbit account.

Hello @SoMN

If I understand your post correctly, you're trying to have 2 Charge 5 devices on your Fitbit app.

If this is the case, the app is working properly. Only 1 device can be connected to the Fitbit app at a time.

It sounds like you need remove your daughter's device from your app and setup a separate Fitbit account for your daughter so she can use her Charge 5.

I figured that was the case. That's why I set up a different fitbit account on another phone.  It won't let me get on there either ‌🤔‌.

The fitbit continues to try to sync and the app gives me an error message each time ‌😕‌.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SoMN. I'm sorry to hear that you can't sync your Charge 5 after clearing data. I'll be happy to assist.

Please delete your tracker of your phone's Bluetooth and set up your device again:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app on your phone, tap the devices icon.
  2. Tap Add more devices.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

If you encounter issues with your Fitbit device setup, refer to Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Thank you for your assisstance @RiekoC

Hello @SoMN

When you set up a different Fitbit account on the other phone, were you trying to set up your Charge 5 or your daughter's Charge 5 on the other phone?

Have you tried to remove your daughter's Charge 5 from your original Fitbit account on your original phone, then set up your Charge 5 on that phone?

What we would like to know is, do you and your daughter each have a Charge 5, and you are not trying to use 1 device for 2 people.

Did you connect your tracker to your daughter's account. Another thought, remove the Charge 5 from the BT on both phones.
