Can you disable unused functions

I still want a charge 5 even after reading above all the problems.  My question is how many functions can you disable and does doing so improve the reliability.   I only want to use the step counter and ecg and heart rate notifications mainly.   I have no use for GPS, call and text notifications and a few other things.  Can they be disabled?

@Den726 you don't have to use GPS. I rarely use that myself. It's very easy to disable unwanted notifications in the Fitbit app. I don't know that it would improve reliability, but it should help the device go longer between charging.
