Cardio fitness score

Hi all, I have a Fitbit charge 5, I play intensive sports pretty much every day for at least 1 hour (squash/rowing)  my resting heart rate is generally 55-57 bpm but my cardio fitness score is only 51-55,

my brother does pretty much the same but his resting hr is 63-65 but his cardio fitness score is in the 63+ range

even my dad who does nowhere as much excercises has a higher cardio fitness score than me, is there any reason for this?

Hello @Ben12314

Did you tap on More Information in the App to see how it's all determined?  Your scores are compared to other people in your age range and gender.  Your Dad will be in a different group and then numbers might be relevant to the group rather than compared across ages (I'm not sure about that though).

There are 6 levels.  Do you fall into the Excellent level or poor or average?  That would make a difference.  Also is your age and weight correct in the App?

At the moment mine's just giving a range but the starting and ending points seem to move slightly depending on fluctuations in my weight and my sleep score.

I would recommend checking that your personal data is correct, then looking at the level you're put into for your age and gender.  That should show you how you measure up to your peers.

I hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for the response, all of my personal info is entered correctly, my range is in the top average to bottom good,

my brother is pretty much the same age as me, so I’m not too sure about the difference

That's strange @Ben12314

Weight and body fat can be factors too.   If body fat isn't entered, it might have an impact on the scores too.

Fitbit says one way to narrow down the score is to run outside with GPS a few times (at least 10 minutes each time).  That might be worth a try if you have time.  When you have an exact number rather than a range, it gives you more advice about how much you could improve your score by for example losing weight or sleeping longer.

At the moment I'm trying to get a precise number again but it's taking a bit longer than usual.  When I get one I can tell you properly what advice the App gives.  Maybe someone else reading this with a number rather than a range could tell you.

It's a mystery so it would be great to clear it up.  Maybe you and your brother could run together until you get exact scores and then compare them.  They might be quite different then.

Thank you so much for the response, I might give going for a fun with gos a go, although ( in all seriousness, it isn’t really a pressing matter)

it’s more of something that keeps on coming up when we are roasting each other about our PB’s
