I bought a Charge 5 for a few months. I am over 60yo and use C5 for tracking my sleeping and walking. There is no battery level on the front face of C5. I can read battery level if I flip to the second page. But Fitbit makes the characters for battery level so small for me to read. Alternatively, I can find out the battery level after a few moves in the app. It also sends email alert for low battery. But none of them is user friendly enough. Many times, I find out the low battery alert just when I want to sleep and have to wait for it to charge.
I just test out using an IOS app called "Shortcuts" to covert the incoming email alert to a text message to send to the C5. The Shortcuts creates an "Automation or Macro" whenever there is an email sent from fitbit.com having a subject of "battery level low", it will text me the message "Fitbit low power" and would appear on my C5. Hopefully it will help.
What Fitbit can help is
1) put the battery indicator on the front face of the watch (it could be just a line with different colors along one of the 4 sides of the watch face without any number). This will not take up space on the watch face;
2) allow user to set the level when the low power alert email be sent out.
