I have tried searching for this topic and seached for how to turn off autosync on the IPhone app. Can't find it. I've owned a Charge 5 for less than an year and have had great battery life until in last week. Overnight it was lasting for a week to draining in 36 hours. I have no clue what happened or what settign might have been changed accidentally.

Fitbit replaced my charge 5. No quibbles. So far, so good with battery now. I can use it for about 7 days before a charge is needed. The new charge 5 was sent in a Google plastic bag. No box.

Disable auto update, and don't update the app and firmware manually, just
keep on using it with what firmware it came with. That's what i did with my
replacement and it's been running ok for 7 days since December 2022.

I'd love to send mine back to Fitbit. I can't find their address anywhere. I know from their tech support that they don't have a repair facility anywhere, so if your device died, unless you have a receipt somewhere (so they send you a replacement) you pretty much have to throw away your dead device. Charge 5 is mine. Destined to the trash bin.

If you have access to a computer , sign into the Fitbit site and you can
use the contact us function which enables you to speak to a person. They
then emailed me the postage details and the pieces to stick on the item to
return it. I had to send it to the Netherlands. No UK offices which is a
pain.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Have the same issue since yesterday. Suddenly the battery  drains in 4-5 hours after an ugly update in the app that I don’t want anyway. I have been using the watch for 6 months only. I tried to contact customer support, but it is inaccessible, there is an issue reaching them, the app says… are there any news?

A wise decision, I had many issues with various fitbits, all unsolved and customer service was not helpful for me at all. Don’t buy this brand.

The issue happened to me just 2 days ago, after a terrible update on the app. This article is from April, any news what Fitbit did to solve the problem? Thanks.

Fitbit has done nothing for me on this issue. After about 9 emails back and forth, a couple of phone calls, I just gave up. I am never using this brand again. I have bough another watch from a different brand. After asking for a refund, all emails just stopped. I have read from the fitbit community that this issue started almost 2 years ago. Fitbit has done nothing resolving this issue. I am very disappointed as I just bought this fitbit 5 just 9 months ago.

I called customer support and insisted I return the charger 5. They sent me a pdf with a usps mailing label. I mailed it bsck to them. They’ll either fix it or send me another one. I don’t think they have a repair center, though …

Exactly the same going on for me. Used to last a week or more until mid last week and then, suddenly, 1 day max. This morning I contacted the support, they made me reset it, which I did. In 12 hours battery has gone down from 100% to 51%.

They said to wait for it to die and contact again. Let's see...

Interestingly last night only lost 17% (which is still way more than usual, but definitely less than the past 3 days). Did anyone notice any changes? Can it be related to the new app? I am on Android. Is the problem affectiong iOS users as well?

I think from what I have read and seen this is majorly effecting iOS users
more than Android, and yes after the recent app update the battery drainage
has been less.....

I think iOS users have had more problems than Android users from what I have read.

And yes since the latest revamp of the app, battery life has improved.

Update: Fitbit have acknowledged the tracker was misbehaving and, as it was still under warranty, they offered me either free replacement or 50% off a new one. I would have got the Charge 6 but it's excluded from the discount. So I went with the replacement. Received it in less than 2 days.

Well done Fitbit!

Just joining the chat since I'm having the same issue. A few days ago,  suddenly my fitbit wouldn't even turn on (I thought it died but the screen was totally unresponsive even on the charger) then I contacted customer support and finally got it to respond to the charger,  but the full charge only lasted a few hours! They gave me a discount code but I can't use it on the charge 6 and the charge 5 is no longer on the website so what am I supposed to do?

Mine is past warranty and they offered me a discount but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it if it doesn't apply to the charge 6 and I can't find the charge 5 on their website.

Good for you. May I ask which country are you located? Because they offered me free replacement or a 50% discount gor a new model. I asked the replacement, but nothing happens ever since. They promised to send an email when the watch is dispatched, but no news since 5 days. Wrote them to ask the status, but no answer. I definitely won’t buy a new one, even with discount, as this is my second Fitbit that broke within 6 months.

Which revamp, when was this released? My battery started to die exactly after the latest revamp a week ago. I also run it on iOS, and the revamp totally changed visually the  app interface too - for a terrible one that I don’t like at all. Plus killed the battery. Is there any fix to that? Thanks.

My charge 5 has started draining battery quickly over the last week or so! Was totally dead overnight Monday (with little warning), so fully charged on Tuesday and died again overnight last night! I was getting around a week on a full charge, but now I'm lucky if I get 3 or 4 days, and I'm not a big exerciser, or using it for lots of notifications! It's coming up for a year old, so I'm worried it's about to die as it's just out of warranty!

Same for me. My suggestion is reach out to support, they will do some tests lasting a few days and then diagnose if there is something wrong. Good luck!
