I just got a charge 5 on Saturday. On Monday at work it went from 50% to less than 20% in just an 8 hour day. I charged it that night and wore it at about 7:30pm. By 7 am it went from 100% to 65%.
I've read all the tips of extending battery life and properly charging. It doesn't seem there is an option to turn off auto sync with the charge 5 device.
Any ideas how to fix this? Or do I have a defective device?

I had the same issue when I got my Charge 5 (purchased from Fitbit.com). I worked with the support staff via Live Chat (https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US) to resolve this problem. After the usual troubleshooting conversation, the staff concluded that my device was defective and provided me with instructions on how to return my device and get a replacement. After a few weeks, I received my replacement device (last Tuesday, Feb 15). I fully charged the device that day and as of Feb 22 (i.e. 7 days later), the battery charge is at 41% from 100%, so it looks my replacement device is working (possibly better than the advertised 7-day battery life). I'd recommend that you try and get a replacement.

Rec’d my charge 5 on Feb 3. Set it up the. Experienced battery drain over the course of the week. To my surprise, the Charge 5 did not last more than two days after fully charging. I made sure GPS was off. Quite frankly turning off other functions like choosing a less vibrant watch face defeats the purpose of the watch and fitness tracker. I used an Inspire over the last couple years and loved it—it lasted at least a week on a single charge and that included tracking workouts.
The larger watch face and brighter screen of the C5 enticed me to try it.
I spent time on three separate customer service live chats and rec’d a replacement on Feb 21.
I fully charged it to 100% on Feb 21. It is Feb 22 at 9:09pm and the device is at 50%. I expect it to die overnight as the first one did.
there are serious problems with the C5. I’m so disappointed. I do not want to go back to the Inspire as the screen is so dim…impossible to read outside.
I will reach out to customer service AGAIN if the battery issue persists.

After 2.5 days my battery, which started at 100% is now at 14%. GPS off, screen not always on, device restarted, software updated.
when Fitbit says the C5 gets 7 days, under what conditions will I get 7 days? Does everything need to be turned off???
