Charge 5 Easily Scratches

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently purchased the Charge 5 and I have had it for a little for over a month and a half and noticed that the face easily scratches. I am not rough on things so I was a bit surprised that it was not more robust. I reached out to customer support and they said that "the issue with your product doesn’t meet the replacement requirements of our warranty policy." They also offered me a discount if I want to purchase a new device.  Why would I want to purchase another one or a different item if the one I currently have is already having issues so soon? I was disappointed to say the least. Have any of you had a similar experience?

Yes my previous one quickly got a scratch on the middle of the clock face.

but it got a replacement one because of fitbit bugs, so.

Hi, @pslexi, welcome to the community, It's a pity you have accumulated scratches on the face of your "Charge 5", wearables do lead a hard life.

The Specs say -

"Bring your stats to life on a new colour touchscreen that’s two times brighter than Charge 4 in daylight and protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3".

Gorilla Glass 3 seems to be among the toughest around.

While my Fitbit's do have minor scratches I would not say they easily scratch.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Glass 3 was developed in 2013, which is nearly 10 years ago.

Subsequently gorilla glass developed 4, 5,  SR+, 6, DX/DX+ , and Victus in 2020. I dont think “glass 3 is the toughest” is correct. At the end of the day, my charge 5 got a scratch right in the middle, and so i am not too convinced as a user.
