7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Charge 5 Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Charge 5 will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!
We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

charge 5 battery level went to 1% on 11/30/23 at 0928. I can charge battery to 99% but it goes to 1% as soon as i unplug charger Spent over 1 hour cleaning, charging, on phone with help support. No change. just offer of 50 coupon to buy another device

Charge 5 battery went to 1% 11/30/23. Can charge to 99% but goes to 1% as soon as i unplug. Spent over 1 2 hours cleaning, recharging, customer support ... all fitbit offered was discount if i buy another product within 30 days. Had device since september 2022

Payment icon is STILL the first item displayed when you swipe up
Android interface is STILL UGLY with faded colours, and limited adjustments. I monitor sleep and my weight but I can NOT bring my weight button position to just below the sleep button WHERE I WANT IT!!!
Android interface for fulfilled goals is a tiny check mark at the bottom of the pale coloured goal indicators rather than the goal indicator showing a filled in coloured graphic which emphasized the goal fulfilment.
I'm done with Fitbit/Google whatever and will NOT purchase a replacement for my charge 5

Good choice that I made too, at least a similar one. The company has taken a huge hit on this and even replies in here saying that millions are having no trouble (implication : you don't matter).

I’m the one who got a further update to 194.78. I have now been prompted to install ANOTHER update to 194.91. I’m not sure what is new in this update, but will report back if I notice anything.

I wish one of the moderators would chime in!! My luxe finally updated to 194.91 (by passing the previous) a few days ago but my charge 5 is still on the 188 etc. Plus the Fitbit website claims the latest firmware to be the 188 ! Does anyone working there know what’s going on??

Since a software update caused the problem that broke all of our Charge 5's, they should be able to fix it with another software update. That would feel like a miracle after having a Fitbit that only lasted a year.
IF they fix the problem, my faith would be restored in the Fitbit product line. Until then, I'm not buying any more Fitbit products.

On a positive note.
I’ve read some of the posts about the short battery life, disappearing charge % display on phone, and a host of other issues created by the infamous update. A couple of weeks ago the battery charge % indicator magically reappeared on my S23 android phone (after first disappearing after the update). It’s on the upper left corner on the main Fitbit app page. I find it a bit odd that my wife, who has an S23 Ultra does not have the charge % display. Both phones have the identical updates.
Also, we do not have issues with battery life. Our watches last up to 10 days on each charge. No other issues that we are aware of. Lucky, I guess.

@HaulinAuss I could possibly be that the two devices have different screen resolutions and the code behind the screen layout has some calculation to show/hide features depending of the view area available. The only way I can think of to test this is to local the Android dev kit on a computer and run an emulation with differing screen specifications.

I hate, hate, hate this new update. It freezes up. Half the time it doesn’t load my workouts. It’s difficult to read and see on the map. I can’t figure out how to start my walks from my phone app!😡 The color is drab, boring and uninspiring. At least 70% of the time it records my sleep incorrectly or not at all! Why in the world would you change it! I may just toss my Fitbit and use my Apple Watch.

This is really getting ridiculous. 6 weeks now still no sleep profile, no breathing rate, no heart rate variability, no oxygen saturation, still nothing working. All of the features I pay for and use my charge 5 for still don't work. There is no update. Every day, I've done everything that has been suggested to fix but it still doesn't work. When will this be fixed?
