The update has been pulled by Fitbit because it bricked a lot of devices. If I were you, I'd stay away from any updates!

But even on this 194.78 firmware the battery is still draining ? *ugger..........

Why is Fitbit gaslighting users? The firmware was pulled, so there was obviously an issue. Fitbit needs to be transparent and own up to the issue.
As I mentioned previously, Fitbit also needs to do a better job of listening to user input. If the community isn't providing product feedback, it's because they don't feel like their voice is being heard.

I suspect my fitbit is now useless for the purpose I bought it. I have been buying fitbits for years and resisting the temptation to go to an alternative brand of tracker.
It has already started using different terminology for fat burn, etc in the app which I was using to monitor exercise. But now it doesn't automatically recognise exercise at all. This was the reason I bought it. I don't have time to start this manually every time and constantly forget. This was the purpose of having a fitbit. I don't know what is wrong. Is it fixable? If its not this will be the last fitbit I own and will be replaced soon. Please help urgently!
Thanks 😊

Totally confused as to why my Fitbit battery suddenly drains in a couple of days. Seems like I'm. Not alone however. 😞

I've noticed with the new update that my Charge 5 battery rapidly drains. It's a frustrating issue.

Only happy to take the praise of the fitbit, not critisicm.

Apparently the new update is causing the battery drain for many many users. Mine finally died a couple of days ago.

Add me to those who have a nonfunctioning fitbit after the update. I ran the update about 2 weeks after my fitbit charge 5 was out of warranty. It immediately wouldn't hold a charge. Within an hour after charging it would be at 0%. I tried all the steps I could find online to fix it. Nothing worked. As it was over the holidays, I just put the device aside because I was busy. Then I came across an article talking about the same issues I was having. What is fitbit going to do to fix this issue? I was using it to track critical health information and now I can't. I really don't want to have to go to another smart device: 1. I can't afford to keep buying them. 2. other devices are too big for my wrist (not talking about the band, but the size of the screen face). The charge 5 was my 3rd device.

My Charge 5 isn't working now. Black screen, no lights on the back, and unable to restart it. Was at 70% battery before this happened. Looks like there's a widespread issue here. No help offered by Fitbit as it's just over a year old.

This firmware update has messed up my Charge 5. I installed the update a few weeks ago and could not understand why my battery drained so quickly. Not only does battery drain completely within 24 hours, but syncing with my Fitbit app is spotty and battery status percentage on app is completely different than what shows on my device. Sometimes device screen goes completely blank and unresponsive even though battery percentage is sufficient. Only attaching the Fitbit charger will wake the display up. There doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason as to what is occurring with my device except that I updated the firmware. It was perfect before this update.
