I activated my Charge 5 late December 2022. The GPS worked nearly flawlessly for about 18 months. The last couple months it fails to connect on every excercise that uses it. I use the built in GPS and do not connect to my phone (usually don't have phone with).
I have read numerous community articles on this.
I have looked at the GPS settings. I ensured the activity settings were correct. I have tried holding the Charge 5 at the right position. Charged it to over 80%.
My activities all worked fine for 18 months. They take place in a spread out subdivision with 1 and 2 story homes and on nature trails with minimal trees and no hills/mountains.
I see lots of commenst from July 2023 about updates affecting GPS. I did not experience that at the time.
My charge 5 is currently on version 57.20001.188.58. I have no idea when it got updated to that.
I have followed all the guidance in about 10 to 12 community forum threads on this topic and none of it has helped. Any suggestions? I expected at least 2 years out of the device.
