Charge 5 - Heart Rate Shooting up high during an EDA Scan

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It seems all of my EDA scans report increasing heart rate during the duration.  Just recently, 2 scans in a row (I rebooted, and manually checked pulse in between) my heart rate shot up from 60 to 188 bpm.  I'm sitting upright but relaxing.  Definitely not 188bpm.

Anyone else have this issue?

Can I delete an hour of heart rate?

@LizEidsness Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the details mentioned.

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting. I'd like you to ensure that you've tightened the band. It should feel snug but not constricting. If you experience any discomfort, loose the band, and if it persists give your wrist a break by taking it off.

Also, ensure you're following this procedure when doing an EDA scan.

In regards of deleting heart rate data, this option isn't available yet. You may want to vote and comment on this idea, they are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans.

Hope this helps.

Hi - thanks for the follow up.

I did follow the instructions for a scan.  And I also tried 2 different tightness settings.  Not this time specifically, but it also happened when it's one notch tighter.

I will add that even after the EDA was complete, my heart rate persisted at 188bpm in this example.  This is why I rebooted.  After reboot, heart rate is what i would expect.

your "this idea link" is incomplete - it doesn't go anywhere...

Have you been diagnosed with PVC -- premature ventricular contractions (which is usually benign)? If so, this could fool the device into reporting a very high heart rate for a short period of time.

but only while running an EDA scan?  And not any other time?
