Charge 5 - No Altimeter or Elevation Gain Tracking via GPS - So Disappointed

I posted this before, but I guess it was removed due to mentioning that I was thinking of moving to another company who also does fitness tracking. So I won't name any other companies, but Fitbit...there's a bunch of us who are really disappointed and looking to move on.

I've used the daylights out of my Charge 2 for about 3-4 years. I've gone backpacking with it, climbed mountains, ran marathons, and considered it a badge of honor when all the runners would make fun of me for not having a "real watch." Well my Charge 2 finally bit the dust, and I purchased the Charge 5 not even thinking, "Huh, I wonder if they got rid of elevation gain tracking." Well you did, and I'm incredibly disappointed. Plus you made the box super difficult to get into, so I can't even return it. It's been so nice for years to have a small watch that did everything the big boys could do. Now, as an athlete at any level, I think we're collectively moving our tracking needs elsewhere. I know I am.

Apologies for the tone of this, but the fact that elevation was never mentioned anywhere, and no explanation was given for the drop, really feels like you were trying to cut a corner and hoping the majority of the public wouldn't notice. Maybe you're right. But for my little corner of the demographic, this is a hugely disappointing omission. I'll check back with you for the Charge 6, but for now this is big enough to where the new tracker I just bought it completely unusable for me. I really ask that you consider changing this.

Oooh... I hated that the Charge 5 doesn't do stair count. I upgraded from the C4 and could live without the Spotify inclusion but the stair counter just doesn't make sense to exclude. Not good at ALL

Thanks for that!!!  I have a charge 4 that I like very much, and was just about to ask wifey for a Charge 5 for Christmas.  I'll keep looking and skip the Fitbit for now.  Darn shame too.  Are there any that you recommend?
