Charge 5 Silent Alarm Continues to Vibrate After Being Dismissed

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have several silent alarms set on my Charge 5. It will vibrate that the alarm is going off, I will swipe up and dismiss the alarm - however, it continues to vibrate for 5-10 seconds after I dismiss the alarm. Does anyone else have this issue?

Hi, thank you for sharing this information about the problem you experienced with your Charge 5, @Lawdoll

Please note that your device vibrates and flashes when a silent alarm goes off. This notification repeats several times or until dismissed. If you don't dismiss an alarm, it repeats in 9 minutes. The alarm on most Fitbit devices turns off when you walk 50 steps.

Before considering other options, and if your device continues to vibrate after you dismiss the alarm, please try the following steps:

Hope this helps, I'll be around.

Hi, this did not resolve my issue. I also continue to have issues receiving notifications. The active call alert will sometimes take 10-15 minutes before it will give me the notification. Then it will repeatedly vibrate with the alert until I open the fitbit app. My text notifications are inconsistent as well.

@Lawdoll Thank you for your response and for confirming that you're still having the same inconvenience.

In this case, since you already tried the steps suggested and you continue to experience the same problem with the alarms, I recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. The best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. In the meantime, and regarding the problem with the notifications, make sure to follow all the steps listed in this article. In addition to the steps mentioned earlier, make sure that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed and to check all the compatibility requirements here. Keep in mind that you need Android OS 8.0 or higher or Apple iOS 13 or higher on your phone and that you won’t see notifications on your Fitbit device if you turned on the Do Not disturb Icon or Sleep Mode.

See you around.

It's a very common issue I encounter as well. Seems that unless I keep the tracker up and make sure the screen doesn't go to sleep it happens all the time. When it does happen, I have to wake the screen and it stops but it's very annoying.

@SunsetRunner Thank you for sharing that you've been experiencing the same with your Charge 5.

I tested this on my Charge 5 and experienced the same behavior you mentioned earlier. If you haven't done so already, please make sure to vote for this idea posted in the Feature Suggestions board of the Community: Stop alarm immediately when snoozed on Charge 5.

However, I did see a few users who shared they're no longer having this problem after they updated to the latest firmware version (20001.171.50) of the Charge 5. Could you please confirm if you're still seeing this with your Fitbit device?

Ill be around.

It still happens with the latest firmware.

Lol. Kind of crazy you have to vote for a “Feature Suggestion” to get a bug fixed. A bug that has persisted across different Charge models for years…
