- STOPWATCH ISSUE: Running at stopwatch to the limit seems to trigger a bug where the stopwatch can't be selected (it disappears from the menu; only the Timer shows). Only fixable with a reset.
- BETTER HRM: Device should be pairable with an external heart rate monitor.
- UI TOO SMALL: Many of the fonts are too small. The battery indicator on some watch faces is barely legible.
- BETTER WATCH FACES: There are some "highly graphical" looks to choose from, but not many "highly usable" watch faces. Usable is good. Cool is not necessarily good. If your designers aren't able to figure this out, this isn't the design work for them.
- TRIVIAL UI BEHAVIORS: The UI interactions are, frankly, not at all well executed. The "vertical bounce" on some activity menus is irritating and just comes off as jumpy. There is no evident purpose in this "bounce", so eliminate it.
- ALARM SETTING:
- When setting an alarm, there should be "M-F" (mon-fri) and "weekend" (sa-sun) option so a user doesn't have to set each day individually.
- Alarms should be configurable from the app.
- On the "alarm summary screen", each alarm should indicate its full current status, PARTICULARLY if it is enabled or disabled.
- SCREEN INTERACTIVITY: About 20% of the time, my taps or swipes do nothing. It's pretty annoying.
- There should be a meditation/breathing app available on this device.
- I'm not a fan of making features only accessible via Premium.
The design of the app, particularly if you're a parent with child+device, deserves its own extensive documentation of UI and usability issues.
If you're a designer with Fitbit and reading this post, go get a Garmin device and install the mobile and desktop apps. And take notes.
