Charge 5 - Updated my password, now my watch won't pair with my phone

Hi,

My phone & Charge 5 have been just fine - that is until I updated my fitbit password. Now they won't pair. I've done it all - from removing the app from my phone & re-installing; restarting my phone; restarting my watch.  I did a blue tooth scan and it sees my charge 5 - I even tried pairing through my android's bluetooth app, but it can only happen through the fitbit app. Ugg, so tired of deleting and reinstalling and restarting.  And yes - I update my fitbit app permissions every time. There is nothing standing in the way of it working.

How do I fix this mess?

The irony is that this all started because I want to cancel my fitbit premium sub --- which I got through the play store, which was putting me through loops without the option to unsub - and the new login system they're implementing, which forced me to reset my password.

So now not only am I unable to unsub, my watch isn't even pairing.

Hi, @HB_Oak , updating your password will have absolutely nothing to do with your phone finding your Fitbit, so we are going to need a little more information.

Did you delete your original account and sign up with a new one?

Are you using the same or different email address?  Are you able to log in to your Fitbit account?

Julia G -

So the answers to all of your questions are no.

I called Fitbit's tech service and it's my phone. Their app currently doesn't sync with any Samsung flip phones. They told me that they aren't sure when it will be fixed, so they went ahead and cancelled my subscription.

It's very disappointing. They should put out a public statement so that people know about this. I also asked if they'd be sending out an update notice through email and they just said it would be posted somewhere - so I'd just have to accidentally find the posting I guess?

Basically, I'm using a watch that is dead in the water when it comes to any sort of tracking.
