Two days ago my fitbit silent alarm didn't go off/vibrate in the morning like it was supposed to. I noticed it still had my step count from the previous day showing as the current day's steps even though I hadn't gotten out of bed yet and midnight had passed. I assumed the app needed an update so I checked the Google Play store but the Fitbit app was up to date. So then I tried to sync it manually in the fitbit app and it wouldn't sync. When I went to charge it the device wouldn't charge. I cleaned the charger and Charge 5 just in case but that didn't work. I tried plugging it into different electrical outlets, with different plugs/blocks, and even tried charging via USB on my computer and nothing worked. I manually restarted the fitbit 5 times on the device settings to no avail. I unpaired it from my phone and tried to pair it back in case that would reset it somehow but my phone/fitbit app says it found the device but then can't finish pairing after it finds the device. I also tried uninstalling the fitbit app on my phone and reinstalling it just in case but that didn't work either.
In summary: out of nowhere Fitbit Charge 5 won't sync, charge, and won't pair back to the same device it had been paired to previously. Help!

If anyone runs into this issue, I finally got it fixed with the help of Jose from fitbit support chat. I had to keep restarting my Charge 5 over and over again and after several tries it worked. It's working perfectly now!
Before when I hit restart the screen would go black for a few seconds but then go back to my regular clock face. Finally the last time it went black and then showed to fitbit logo, showing it truly did restart.

What do you mean by restart? Is it something different from simply opening the app?

On the Charge 5, you pull down from the top on the clock face and select settings. Then scroll down till you see restart device. I had to do this several times before I saw the logo as well and then my device started syncing with my phone again.

When I get the Settings screen - only have Display Settings to change, the Settings screen will NOT react. My mobile divice cannot find my Charge 5 - I reset via the Pulse on my USB charger. Nothing works?

When you see Display Settings you can't swipe up to get additional options? If it's not giving you more things to scroll through you may need a replacement. Not sure if there is another way to hard reset it.
