Yesterday, I went for a swim. I was wearing a Charge 3 and a Charge 5 (linked to different accounts) to test them against each other.
I set the Charge 5 to track the swim just before I got in the pool, and let the Charge 3 auto-track swimming, since it's impossible to read the Charge 3's screen outdoors.
I swam 42 lengths (2.1 km), as tracked by a SportCount Chrono, which counts a new length each time you press a button.
My Charge 5 thinks I swam 86 lengths and 4702 yards.
My Charge 3 thinks I swam 93 lengths and 5085 yards.
On Monday, I swam in a 25-meter pool with only my Charge 5. I swam 80 lengths (2 km), as tracked by the SportCount. The Charge 5 counted 82 lengths and 2241 yards for that swim. The 25-meter setting seems to be much more accurate.
What is the problem, here? It seems like it is not a hardware issue, but rather a software issue.
