Charge 5 and apple watch7 HR stats comparison

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

First, I like the Charge 5 more than my Apple s7 mostly because I have some mechanical watches I prefer to wear. Because the Charge 5 is physically & aesthetically minimalistic, wearing my mechanical watches on my non-dominant wrist (while wearing the Charge on the other) doesn't feel like too much. Something that might look awkward trying to do with an apple watch.

But, to my main point:

The HR stats from an easy run/walk interval seem to align very well. Everyone raves about how accuracy of the apple watch, but here I don't see much difference.

Also, please don't judge my stats harshly. I used to be in a wheelchair; so, I'm out-of-shape and have weak legs.

Make sure you comparing the HR graphs and not the lower fitbit calorie graph.charge_s7_comp.png

Hey @SunsetRunner

I hope nobody here or anywhere else ever judges you harshly for your health or heart rate!

Encouraging each other, being supportive and being grateful is the best way to survive in this world.

My feelings are similar to yours about watches and I have a G Shock that’s my official watch.

After reading lots of comments here about Garmin watches I went to check them out yesterday.  I’m extremely tempted for my next purchase but had the same reservations as you about having 2 obvious watches on at the same time… the Charge 5 is very minimalist and more like an accessory than a competing watch.

Keep doing the exercise that suits you and go at your pace.  I interval jog because I can’t run and I often feel like our purposes in moving are the most important aspect.  It’s not necessarily about getting there quickly but enjoying the journey and the sights, smells and sounds on the way.

@Wibby I'm doing none-to-run (N2R) and then calisthenics (push-ups, inverted rows, hinge/core exercises, body squats, assisted lunges using dip stand, etc.) for strength training on non-run days. On days where I feel "empty-in-the-tank" I will do flow yoga for ~30min just to maintain habit and loosen up any sore muscles and joints.

I'm am now giving the AWs7 to my adult son. I have used Garmin watches before and for all-day GPS activities... well, I have my eye on the new garmin instinct 2 solar. But, for daily activity tracking (even though Garmin does a great job) I will simply use the FB charge 5. I find the Fitbit platform more motivating; especially with the community forum. Something that is lacking with Garmin and Apple unless you have a group that is active in a third party app like Strava.
