My charge 3 and 4 bands seem only to last a few months.  can we expect the charge 5 to last an entire 6 months before breaking?

You would hope that it would last for a reasonable amount of time. Although seeing as the device hasn't been released yet, no one has used it for long enough to give you an answer.

Ive had my Charge 3 for 2 and a half years still running strong. Battery lasts for 6days and I do 4-6 trainings per week 30-55min long. I only had to factory reset it about 4 times in 2years because  the touch display was unresponsive.
