Hi
My FitBit Charge 5 is practically brand new. I am having issues with battery life. I charged it to 100% on Wednesday but by Thursday evening I was getting notifications to see it needed recharging again.
Any help gratefully received!

Any chance you are using the GPS a lot? Found with my Charge 4 and Charge 5 that when using GPS needed to charge every night. Used the GPS about 1.5 hours a day.

Hi
I have turned this off - didn't realise I had it on!
Will see if this helps.
Thanks

Make sure to read through the other thread:

Some people are having extreme battery issues, and so far nobody has identified a cause or solution (other than "a firmware update is coming soon...")
I was on a chat with support and they could see my Charge 5 went from 100% to 79% in just eight minutes! That's extreme, but many people seem to see their Charge 5 develop this type of behavior.
If you are still under warranty (no idea what that is!) you should keep an eye on the dates and make sure you don't get stuck with a lemon!

Rapid battery depletion on my Charge 5 began several days ago after accepting the Atrial Fib option. Have to think there is some connection to that. Customer service didn't tho and offered a replacement. Is there a way to turn off the Atrial Fib module?

The ECG and SpO2 can be uninstalled from the phone app.
From the "Today" screen in the app tap your profile pic (upper left?)
That should bring up your Account screen - tap your Charge 5 device
You should have three icons - Gallery, Wallet, How To - tap Gallery
At the top of this screen there are options for Clocks and then Apps - tap Apps
From here you have a list of Apps - tap ECG and you can uninstall (same for SpO2) - support will suggest uninstalling both

Thanks for this. Of course I need to connect with the Fitbit to do this and it is now out of juice, but I will try after charging it...again.

I have the same problem with my Charge 5, purchased last April. It worked well until 3 days ago, when it suddenly went from fully charged to 4% in a little over an hour.
I contacted support as soon as I identified what was happening, and all I’ve gotten are canned checklist responses, all of which I’ve tried to no avail, or assurances that “new firmware” is on the way! This is not a firmware problem. There is likely nothing that errant firmware could do to make the device drain its battery a hundred times faster than it was designed for.

My issue is similar, if not the same. Brand new fitbit charge 5. according to support records went from 98% to 3% overnight. I know it was fully charged. All notifications are off, GPS off(don't need it). This was meant to replace a versa, with a degraded battery. Called support and they suggested this link
https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2004.htm and to report back after the battery dies, after full charge and 6 syncs.
