Charge 5 battery draining quickly

Charge 5 received as a replacement to faulty charge 4, stopped working within 2 years of having the 5,  told nothing they can do as it was a replacement, neither device lasted the 2 years. Disappointing as liked using Fitbit but battery developed a fault.

Hi, 

How do you know the battery developed a fault? 

I am having issues with my Charge 5 battery but having googled it, it seems a very well known issue!
