Charge 5 battery draining too fast

I have had the new Charge 5 for 2 days. The battery discharges within a day. GPS is off, the phone is not set to always on. In looking over the troubleshooting instructions from Fitbit, it seems that you essentially have to disable all of the features that were selling points of this device in order to get decent battery life. Even my ancient Charge 3 got 6 days on one charge! Has anyone with this battery problem found a solution other than disabling everything?

Exact same problem here. Bought tracker in January 2022. Has worked great until this past week. We have contacted Fitbit numerous times. Super frustrating and thinking about just returning it.

That's where I started.  All they gave me was the same excuses they gave everyone else.

They don’t do anything, just say wait for the update.

If you read the feed, you'll see that most people have contacted Support (myself included) and were told to just wait for the update. Modifying the GPS settings, factory reset, etc, do nothing to resolve the issue.

Yet another Charge 5 owner with issues, the same ones everyone else is having. I thought mine broke because I went for a swim, and I've been playing email tag with support, but getting the same stock replies.

I have a red light on the back that is constantly on, heart rate monitor doesn't work, running the ECG app crashes and restarts the device with a chunk of battery life gone.

There was a firmware update yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was an actual update it a rollback - 57.20001.149.11. Whatever it was doesn't seem to have helped. Getting more and more frustrated every day.

I have had my Charge 5 since May. It has just started losing battery life completely!

I had it replaced once already in April.  The same issue, but much more gradual.  Battery life grew shorter and shorter to the point where it would go to 5% in 10 minutes.  It was still under warranty and the quickly sent me a new one.  Now this!

I too am having major battery issues. I have the latest firmware, auto wake off, gps off, restarted device s as bf only getting 1-2 days. Charged the Fitbit to 100% yesterday morning and down to 12% this morning.

have asked Amazon for a replacement but given the number of messages on this forum, it looks like that won’t fix the issue.

fitbit what is going on? Really loved the Fitbit for several years, despite the screens burning out quickly on charge 2 and 3. They otherwise worked well. 7 days on charge 3 battery. Less than 2 on charge 5, even without the screen being used.

think the device should be taken off the market before if trash your reputation completely.

I’m having the same issue. Started over 48 hours ago. Charge lasts a few hours only. I guess I’m waiting on a firmware update. Whatever software update they made is now killing the battery. To stay profitable, a software correction must be available, or the word will be out that Fitbit doesn’t meet quality and expectations and to stay away. Many competing trackers out there.

I find it insane that they aren’t sorting this asap or at least giving out an apology with some information with what’s being done. I would never recommend Fitbit now as this is appalling. They’re not so big that this won’t effect them, it’s just so short sited.

My charge 5 worked fine for about 3 months, averaging about 5-7 days on a single charge. Then suddenly after a normal cycle and charge it lasted about 24 hours. After charging again it lasted about 22 hours. The next day it only lasted 12. I've since stopped wearing it because it's useless with a battery life of less than 12 hours. The correspondence I got from Fitbit was "thank you for your patience". How long am I expected to be patient for?

I'm also switching back to Fitbit 4. Too much work to keep the 5 charged. Tried all the tricks. It'll work temporarily and then go back to fast drain. The only thing draining faster than battery is my frustration 😂

Today the final day before my replacement arrived, I managed less than 24 hours with gps off, screen wake manual, dim, having restarted again and fully charged. Almost half the battery was used whilst I slept.

Fingers crossed with the replacement but not holding out much hope. Surely Fitbit can and should acknowledge the issue and stop fobbing is off.

Same exact issue. Bought in late January. Worked great until 10 days ago. Now fast draining with apps deleted and GPS set to phone. Did everything Fitbit said to do after contacting them. However after seeing all of these threads they probably knew it wouldn’t work. Started the day at 99% and now at 58%. Looks like they are going to make it easier to switch trackers u less they fix this issue soon if it is a software issue. Can’t figure out why the fix isn’t out yet since it looks like this issue started for some in March.

My replacement seems to be okay, although it's only one week in. I noticed that it did a long update when I set it up, around an hour, not sure if that's significant. Feel sorry for people that have useless C5, but have not completely failed as you can't normally get a replacement.

Customer Support were bad. Only got a replacement as it was purchased from Amazon and started using it on 20th June.

Wait, What?  You got a replacement without having to send yours back first?  I had to send my non working one in; it took 5 weeks for them to get it before sending a replacement.
